Summer is the time of relaxation, sunny days and sweet lemonade. Or is it?

Summer time for me has been quite an eye opener so far. I quickly learned that my Summer’s tends to be my lazy period since it falls under the non-academic year category, even though classes are still offered in the Summer term. My body tends to mistake relaxation for sluggish and hobbies are somehow set as priorities. The raining season doesn’t help me or my Summer either. It gives me more of a reason to stay indoors and be lazy.

The standard Summer is approximately three to four months depending on who you are talking to. That is a very short period of time compared to the rest of year which is why Summer tends to fly by. When the Summer begins, many people prepare for the Summer body, a Summer job or maybe even the ideal Summer experience that everyone hopes for.

When Summer is coming close to the end however, those goals and expectations tend to fade in the process of life, school or work. Yes, I am speaking from experience. The good news is, there is still time left. As the half way point of summer quickly approaches, we should try and put our greatest attempt to rekindle the amazing Summer we all deserve.

Here are a couple tips and tricks that really helped me get out of a lazy rut this Summer:

1. Find something to inspire you.

Oddly enough, my inspiration for getting up and taking control of my life again was a book. I read books on successful entrepreneur stories and focused my free time on learning what other people have done to put them in a higher place in life. I took the overarching theme of advice from every book/article of “work hard.” There are numerous books and articles focused towards different career paths of success that can inspire you. The particular book that really helped me and my career path was “How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul” by Ruth Soukup. The book link is below:

2. Continue to be inspired!

As we all know, it is easy to start something, but keeping up with it to reach an end goal is the most difficult part of the process. That is why it is important to find something to keep you motivated through the raining and lazy days. This inspiration comes in all shapes in sizes. For me it was a continuation of reading success stories, but just like imagination, the possibility are endless to find your unique inspiration.

3. Work Hard Always

The key to becoming successful is consistent practice towards a particular goal. For the average person, anything in life you work towards has to come with hard work. In today’s society normally things don’t just get handed to you unless you sit on quite a bit or money or have a good face card on the internet. The reason for average people becoming famous and successful in the first place is because they weren’t afraid to put themselves out there and fail in front of the world.

Take these three simple steps and run with them. You would be surprised how much more active level and engagement can increase if you are reminded daily of your goals and inspiration.
